These are the verses that you get when you search for the word "lust".

Eze 23:8 NASB - "She did not forsake her harlotries from the time in Egypt; for in her youth men had lain with her, and they handled her virgin bosom and poured out their lust on her.
Eze 23:11 NASB - "Now her sister Oholibah saw this, yet she was more corrupt in her lust than she, and her harlotries were more than the harlotries of her sister.
Mat 5:28 NASB - but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Jam 1:14 NASB - But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.
Jam 1:15 NASB - Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.
Jam 4:2 NASB - You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.
2Pe 1:4 NASB - For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
1Jo 2:16 NASB - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

Now you can take these and print them out on a separate sheet of paper and put space between each verse.  Lets just focus on the New Testament verses for our study.

First, we want to look up the word lust using the dictionary on blueletterbible.org.  Click on the reference for Mat 5:28 in the search results.  You will be redirected to another page with the verse close to the top of the screen.  Click on the "C" by the verse reference and you will see the Greek Lexicon pop up underneath the verse.  Scroll down to the word "lust".  Click on the speaker image and listen to the word's pronunciation in Greek.  Beside the word you will see a reference for the Strong's definition of the word.  It is g1937.  Click on it and you will view the definition.  The "ἐπιθυμέω epithymeō" letters form the Greek word and a transliteration of the word using our alphabet.  Once you have clicked on the g1937, you will see the Strong's definition. It goes something like this.

1) to turn upon a thing
2) to have a desire for, long for, to desire
3) to lust after, covet
a) of those who seek things forbidden

Then you also have the Vine's definition which will give you a better understanding of the word in how it is used in the rest of the Bible.  There is also a Thayer's lexicon that gives a technical definition of the term as well as biblical usage.

Now, going back to the verses and write what you learn about lust.  Think about lust in relation to God and why He hates it so much and what lust does to people.

That's all for now.  This is a very brief overview of getting into Bible study.  Much can be said and there have been entire books written on the subject.  One think to keep in mind though is that it is important to pray and ask God to show you what He wants to teach you before you begin your study.
