It is foolish to evaluate according to someone's appearance, voice, beauty or intelligence. These cause us to make certain presumptions about others, give preference to some or covet what we shouldn't. These lead us into sin.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart."
John 7:24 Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment."
2 Corinthians 10:12 Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.
Before we were saved from the course of this world, we had no necesity for God. Floating downstream together with the rest requires no power outside our own. Going against all the power of the enemy requires a power completely foreign to us.
Ephesians 2:1-3 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2. in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- 3. among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
John 15:20 Remember the word I spoke to you: 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
